Out-of-network

Most insurance companies require a diagnosis for a mental health disorder.  Many insurance companies want to have some say in what happens in therapy in order to provide coverage, requiring a treatment course be approved by the company.  There are some limitations to confidentiality when dealing with an insurance company.  Utilizing health insurance for therapy will also be a permanent part of your health care file.  For these reasons and more, many people prefer to pay out of pocket rather than using health insurance for counseling.

If you would like to utilize your insurance, many insurance companies reimburse a significant portion of your fees for an out of network provider.  To take advantage of that, I can provide a superbill to you at the end of each month.
